Hey baby,
So again I am ending my day and you are beginning yours.
I hope the end of your day went well yesterday. The rest of my day rambled nicely.
I spent my afternoon and evening away from the house. I went to Whole Foods to replenish the dog's dry food and had lunch. I came home and dropped off the perishables before I had the tires replaced. While I waited for the car, I wandered around the area with the camera. That part of Lakewood is strange. It is void of aesthetic care. I felt like I was walking around the cheapest ignored spaces. I stepped into Disguises, the costume store, and tooled around. There was a lot of funny things in there. It was the first time I had gone in. After I left the store, I aimlessly looked for something to show you. I walked into the residential area past the strip mall. I came upon some low rent apartments. The complex had a small pool and a playground. I walked onto the playground and sat on the swing for a minute. Then I crossed the basketball court to a tether ball. I decided I wanted to take sequential images of it. I tried to do it myself, but it proved to be too difficult. As a result, I went searching for some help. I ran into a young boy that went by the name of Ashton. He introduced himself to me then shook my hand. He told me about his bike and how he could do flips off of jumps. I had him throw the tether ball, while I captured its motion. After I had taken the pictures I left him try a few. He said he never taken a picture before. When I was leaving he asked me what my house looked like. I told him it is a white house, and he told me he had seen it. At this point 45 minutes had past and I went to pick up the car.
After picking up the car, I headed out to see my mom. I got to her barn around 5 and she was feeding the horses. Perry was there. I took more pictures while I waited for them to finish up. The sawdust piles on the track are like Karla Black pieces. Today while I was taking pictures of the sawdust I remembered I used to dig tunnels into the sawdust with my hands. The deeper you dug into the pile, the hotter it got. I remember I used to get my whole arm into the side of those sawdust piles. After they finished up we had dinner at P.F. Changs. Like I mentioned before, nothing but corporate restaurants out there. We had a pleasant enough dinner. After dinner I dropped them off at the track and came home.
I watched some more WWII documentaries. So unreal. Times and attitudes are so different. I can't imagine a conflict so massive. That just about brings us up to speed. I miss you sooooo much baby. We are getting so close, and another day is down for me. I felt real low on my way back from the track. While I was driving I really felt your absence. I feel like half of me is missing and I cannot wait to be whole again. No matter what I do I always feel your absence.
I love you my wife.
Your husband.

I really liked the How to Dress Well song.
Twenty-one thousand eight hundred and seventy five words.
ReplyDeleteHey love. It sounds like you had an interesting day. The child looks a little crazy in the photo you took, I like it. But my favorite images are the sawdust piles... so sexy. There is something about them that puts you right in the moment, a sensory precise moment.
I went on a little walk this afternoon after lunch and did a Swiss foot ritual on the top of a small hill in front of a huge mountain. The ritual involved taking your shoes off and walking down a circular path. The path starts with wood chips, then you balance on stumps that are so smotth they feel like silk, then you walk on grey sand, then small stones, then you dunk your arms in ice cold glacier water till it hurts, then walk on large stones, and finally you roll your pants up and walk through this circular pool of glacier water. It felt real painful but at the end of it I was totally refreshed. I think I'm gonna do it again tomorrow.
I wish you would wake up, I desperately want to see you. I miss you and I can't wait till I am in your arms.
purrr purrrr purrrr purr
